IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT JOHN T. NICCOLLAI - WEDNESDAY, JUNE 9, 2021

WAGE INCREASES IN COMPANY SELECTED STORES AND DEPARTMENTS

President Niccollai reported today that it has come to your Union’s attention that several of our Employers are unilaterally granting wage increases in stores and departments they select because of alleged difficulty in staffing the stores.

We want all members to understand that your Union certainly has no objection to our members receiving wage increases, in fact, we encourage it.  What is unfair, inequitable and discriminatory is the fact that Employers are not granting these starting wage rate increases Company-wide to all employees.

We are now in the process of filing grievances with those Companies that we view as having violated sections of our Collective Bargaining Agreements because of these unilateral actions.

We will continue to keep the membership informed as to what progress we make.  We feel this message is imperative to let both our Employers and our Brothers and Sisters know that we will not sit back idly where Employers fail to exercise concepts of fair play and contract compliance.
